Transfer Student Admission Process

Applying to Transfer from Another College/University?

Please Submit:

  • a completed Common Application and nonrefundable $50 application fee
Please Note: Recommender forms included in the Common Application are not required. Simply request an offline form in this section to skip. An essay is optional.
  • official transcripts from all college(s) attended
  • transfer students with under 24 college credits must submit an official copy of their final high school transcript

Transfer applications will be reviewed when all transcripts are received. Decisions for transfer students are based on their college-level academic record.

Transfer students must have earned at least a 2.0 GPA with 24 or more earned college credits in a diversified program of study.

Transfer Credits

You may transfer up to 90 credits from a regionally accredited college or university for courses in which you have earned a grade of C or higher, as long as the courses are comparable to what is taught at RIC.

You will receive a preliminary, unofficial credit evaluation upon acceptance to Rhode Island College. An official evaluation of transfer credit will be completed by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions for all students once they enroll at the college.

Students may view a list of corresponding courses using RIC’s Transfer Evaluation System (TES). Students transferring from CCRI or URI are advised to visit the state transfer website for more information regarding transfer within the RI state system.

Prior to acceptance, applicants may log in to Transferology, and see how their classes will transfer to Rhode Island College.

Rhode Island College also accepts proficiency credit awarded through the College Level Examination Program (CLEP) tests and DANTES (armed forces).

JST transcripts are evaluated for prior learning credit. Students submitting military transcripts will receive a separate letter awarding credit based on ACE Credit Recommendations included in the JST.

Scheduling Transfer Evaluations and Appointments

Students may request a preliminary evaluation via email by sending transcripts and intended major to transfer@corporatefilmfest.com. You can also make an appointment with one of our transfer admissions counselors to learn more about the transfer admission process and how credits will transfer from another college or university.

Also, Rhode Island College representatives visit community college campuses regularly. Check out when RIC will be coming to you.

In many cases, undergraduate degree candidates who withdrew from RIC and did not attend another college or university during their absence, are eligible to re-register through the Records Office without completing a formal application. Instead, they should submit the Student Reactivation Form

Please contact the Records Office at records@corporatefilmfest.com with any additional questions.
